THE LATE 1960’s

In 1968, young Nahid exhibited 20 of her paintings at the Pakistan American Cultural Centre, along with three more young artists.
Rather than adopting her uncle’s style of painting, Nahid created her own style consisting of vivid and contrasting colors along with symmetrical shapes.

1970 to 1980

In 1971, Nahid, along with her class-fellow, Anjum Saeed, mounted a two-artist exhibition at the Indus Gallery. Shakir Ali attended the exhibition and he predicted to Imam that Nahid would be a future artist of note.
Nahid was awarded the second prize in the Fine Arts Section of the Pakistan National Visual Arts Exhibition held in Islamabad in 1981.
In 1984, the artist exhibited her work at the Karachi Arts Council, and later that year, showcased a series of thirty paintings from the “Chawkandi Tombs” series at the Indus Gallery.

International Recognition

Nahid was invited to Germany as artist in residence at the Ateliers Gallery.
In 1999, she was selected by the American Chapter of the Asian Society to show her work in Houston and Chicago during a month-long celebration of women’s achievements in the field of art. There was also a solo exhibition of her work mounted at Houston University Art Gallery.
